Rethinking the Epidemiology of Tuberculosis Infection

The First Global Symposium on Interferon-γ Assays

The First Global Symposium on Interferon-Gamma Assays was held on 21-22 February 2007 in Vancouver BC, Canada.

This symposium, chaired by Tony Catanzaro, MD, of San Diego and Lee Reichman of Newark NJ, brought together almost 200 scientists, to hear and discuss eight state-of-the-art presentations from invited experts in plenary sessions and 63 submitted poster presentations as judged by an independent academic committee.

Topics ranged from the science underpinning Interferon gamma assays to performance in various clinical settings and cost effectiveness relative to traditional tuberculin testing.

With the cooperation of the STOP TB Partnership and Cellestis, FIND is proud to present the PowerPoint slide presentations of each of the speakers.

It is hoped that this symposium and the promulgation of the data in this forum will promote scientific interaction as well as further research and discussion that will lead to the swift but rational adoption of these assays to clinical practice.
