H.E. Mrs. Khadija Rachida Masri, Permanent Observer of the African Union in Geneva, accompanied by her personal secretary Ms Beatrice Tusiime, visited FIND on 26 February 2008. The purpose of the visit was to explore areas for collaboration. Her Excellency met with FIND CEO, Dr. Giorgio Roscigno who was joined by Drs Vinand Nantulya and Joseph Ndung’u. The meeting provided an opportunity to brief Ambassador Masri about FIND’s work, latest accomplishments and the recent Memorandum of Understanding signed with the African Union Commission (AUC)* in Addis Ababa to support efforts engaged in the fight against sleeping sickness. The collaboration is in partnership with the Pan African Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis Eradication Campaign (PATTEC) office of the AUC. The ambassador briefed FIND CEO about the forthcoming event to be organized in Geneva to mark Africa Day. FIND was invited to participate in the event.
