Our values and objectives

FIND was founded as a unique mechanism to bridge the gap between appropriate diagnostic tools and the patients who most need them. Our values drive our Foundation and play a fundamental role in the achievement of both our vision and mission.

Dedication to our mission

We all have a passionate commitment to fulfill both the vision and mission of the Foundation. Everybody at FIND understands how important and necessary diagnosis is in improving patient treatment, especially in low resource settings.

Care for patients’ needs

We place the patient at the heart of our work, aiming to ensure that those who are most in need have equitable access to the highest quality diagnosis as close to their surroundings as possible. We also believe that diagnostic tests will be most effective if they are tailored to the particular situation of patients and health workers alike.

Commitment to high quality standards

We are committed to the highest quality standards and therefore to the development of the highest quality diagnostic tests. We are dedicated to a process of continuous improvement and review of quality management systems and the objectives embodied in them.

What are our objectives?

Our objectives are four-fold. We aim to:

• Develop, together with other public private partnerships, new diagnostic approaches that have been proven in principle
• Transform these approaches into effective diagnostic tests for identifying diseases in low resource settings
• Compare and evaluate these tests in coordinated laboratory and field trials as part of our Foundation’s milestone process
• Ensure these diagnostic tests meet patient care requirements and result in access to cheap and effective diagnosis
