Vision
To make a difference in the quality of life of people suffering from poverty-related diseases in the developing world.
Mission
The Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) is dedicated to the development of rapid, accurate and affordable diagnostic tests through public-private partnerships. Its mission is
driven by the conviction that good health is
central to winning the war against poverty and
that correct diagnosis is a crucial first step
towards establishing health and efficient
use of resources.
To achieve this mission, FIND will
Employ best scientific and business practices by developing and facilitating appropriate use
of improved diagnostic tests within public
health systems and thereby help decrease global
health inequities. Contribute to the goals of organizations such as the STOP TB
Partnership, Roll Back Malaria, Tropical Diseases
Research, among others, by fostering the
transformation of proven biological principles into
effective products with demonstrated impact on
disease control. Leverage investments against
affordability, hence helping to ensure equitable
access to diagnostic products for those most in need
of them.
Objectives
Develop, in partnership with
academia, public and private research institutes
and industry, new diagnostic approaches that
have been proven in principle and to transform
them into effective products for identifying
poverty-related diseases. Compare and evaluate these products in
coordinated laboratory and field trials as part of
FIND’s milestone process from customer requirement
to access to cheap and effective diagnosis.
